The ransomware group behind Aur0ra has used AI agents to move through victim networks, according to Sophos. The company tracks the group as GOLD OGRE.

Sophos recovered artifacts from the Cursor AI coding assistant in late August. The artifacts show the attackers giving the agents VPN logins, proxy access, targets and objectives. The report says the agents then mapped the network. The report also says the agents collected credentials and worked up to domain administrator access.
